Abstract

The preparation of well-size-controlled colloidal gold nanoparticles using glutathione was presented. Colloidal gold particles were formed by the reduction of hydrogen tetrachloroaurate (III) tetrahydrate by trisodium citrate dehydrate and glutathione. The glutathione were experimented in order to control the size of gold nanoparticles. The results show that the colloidal gold solution is monodispersed and the diameter of gold particles has a change by adding various quantity of glutathione solution. The gold nanoparticles prepared in this way make much prospect of DNA detection, biology and medicine.
