Abstract | Introduction This study aims at applying the Action Research approach to explore the training effects of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) on basketball training for senior high school basketball team. There are mainly three action cycles of the Action Research through which to study the implementation process, the players’ performance and the researcher’s professional enhancement. The research participants were 16 male students from high school and one experienced basketball male coach who was also the researcher. The data was collected in different ways which included the interviews with the players, the professional thoughts of the instructors, the periodical inspection of the coach and the record of the focus group discussions. |
