| Abstract | 本文探討的是沈從文小說最早的英譯文本——1936 年出版的斯諾（Edgar Snow）翻譯的短篇小說《柏子》。研究發現，斯諾刪掉原文的結尾，代之以自創的結尾，而沈從文小說的結尾決定著小說的整體結構、布局和風格。譯者的改寫在形式上改變了原作田園詩般抒情的文體風格，在內容上使原作中處於“蒙昧人”狀態的“柏子們”在譯作中變成意識到社會不公的“清醒者”。根據Casanova 社會學理論及Berman 翻譯批評理論的分析框架，本文從翻譯項目、譯者立場以及翻譯評價諸方麵入手分析討論譯文之所以如此的成因。斯諾的譯文體現了時代背景、譯者慣習以及源語/ 目標語地位等多方力量的抗衡。 |
