AbstractWhile the fragmentation of the health-related legislation was conducive to the initial delays in information disclosure and imposition of the necessary prevention and control measures, after the intervention of the central governmental and political authorities, the legislative framework was no longer crucial for the expedient application of anti-epidemic measures or inter-departmental cooperation. Once the COVID-19 epidemic was contained with only sporadic outbreaks occurring in certain localities, certain legislative actions were undertaken to improve the existing regulatory framework in line with the experienced shortfalls and best practices.
