Abstract | Kinect can be used to capture the depth map in some applications, however, there are usually some black holes in the result depth map due to the distance of the camera, the light changes in environment, and the shutter of the camera, etc. The depth map repairing is needed before the it can be used in further applications. This paper proposes a new method to repair the Kinect captured depth map. It first uses color segmentation to cluster the same colour zones in the RGB image and then gives the same depth value in the same clustered zone. At last he joint bilateral filtering is used to remove the small noises. Comparing with other repairing algorithms, our proposed one can completely fill the black holes with different sizes without damage on the hierarchy of the depth map. |
