| Abstract | Plagiarism is an academic misconduct which can cause serious consequences for students who blatantly committed the offense. The paper aims to help students avoiding plagiarism by defining it from academic and legal perspectives, demonstrating proper manners of quotation and citation through various examples and introducing well-established conventions of citation. It is pointed out that observation of citation conventions and academic norms is crucial to the academic development of students and the forming of a healthy academic environment. |
