Abstract | The present study examines how and when servant leadership can foster employee knowledge sharing. Building on social exchange theory, we propose that servant leadership is positively associated with employee knowledge sharing with team-member exchange acting as the mediating mechanism. We further predict that such relationship is more pronounced among employees perceiving high supervisor support. Our hypotheses were found support by data collected from 315 nurses working in a Chinese hospital. Theoretical and practical implications of our results are discussed. |
