There is an evident trend regarding the learning process of Portuguese as a foreignlanguage by Chinese adult speakers. On this study, we specifically refer to those whowork permanently in Angola. Errors, considered a common phenomenon throughout thelearning, is an important element that reflects the evolution of the linguistic competence ofthe learners. The present work tries to explain the characteristics and categorizations of thewritten errors made by these learners, through a contrasting transverse analysis. The resultsshow a strong interference of the mother tongue and second language in all types of writtenerrors. According to our analysis, some aspects should deserve special and more attentionfrom teachers, in order to consider better the identity of learners and their specific learningobjectives, during the planning stage
