Abstract | This work reviews long-range adaptive controllers in discrete-time based on the minimization of multistep ahead quadratic cost functionals. Several algorithms are derived in a unified basis. Stability and convergence aspects are discussed, together with several application examples to robotics, covering: Adaptive control of a flexible arm with reduced complexity controllers; Two-joint rigid manipulator, using SISO and MLMO algorithm and including both simulations and test with a real arm; Depth and pitch control of an underwater remote-operated vehicle. |
