| Abstract | The genetically pre-programmed language mechanism is arguably believed to set up an unchangeable outer limit within all and every human natural language may make its order of grammatical forms and devices from a set of options. The outer limit of the mechanism can be approached by studding various forms of language facts. Furthermore, there could be language forms permissible within the outer limit that have simply not been realized or not attested for various reasons. Using focus construction from various languages as an example, we in this paper explore above points, and raise up some speculations on the direction of grammatical theories are proposed. |
