Abstract | Using the collaborative model of the Parenting Across Cultures (PAC) project, this chapter highlights seven important work and project management practices that may create more effective cross-national collaboration. These include project leadership, group communication and cohesion, dissemination of results, measurement validity, interpreting the meaning of culture, capacity building, and adaptation. Challenges and opportunities that are connected with cross-national research and collaboration are discussed within each suggestion. We conclude that, despite potentially enormous challenges, engaging in cross-national collaboration in the study of parenting and child adjustment can contribute significantly to our understanding of how children develop around the world. |
