2017-Present"History Students’ Space.” Within the framework of the “The Galleries: Sources, Voices, Histories,” this initiative coordinated on an annual basis by Dr. Puente-Ballesteros aims at encouraging history students to introduce their own historical sources and therefore to participate in the reconstruction of historical memories. This year Ms. Deng Yingxin 鄧穎欣and Ms. Xue Hui薛惠, two of our excellent Master students, arranged an inspiring panel entitled “Beautiful Adverts: Cigarettes, Drugs and Wines” in which they showcase and explain original Chinese advertisements from the 1950s and 1960s, while on the same time reflecting on the role played by consumerism culture in the construction of modernity in China. | |
