Although gaming chips are widely used in casinos in Macao and elseewhere, its juridical nature has not received many attention by legal theory. Nevertheless it is a very important question since the solution of several matters linked with its use depend on its juridical nature. The Court of Last Instance recently has come to the conclusion that gaming chips are negoatiable instrument to the bearer. It is this qualification and its implications that we analise on this paper.
