Verbs are important for vocabulary teaching. This paper selected the visual verb zhùshì 'stare' as an example, collected and selected 220 single sentences from major Chinese corpora, and carried out semantic annotation based on dependency grammar. On this basis, this study further analyzed the semantic features of zhùshì 'stare' from the aspects of semantic dependency density, agent-like and patient-like roles, situational roles, and event relations. The study found that zhùshì 'stare' mainly collocates with agents in terms of agent-like roles, with contents and datives in terms of patient-like roles, with manners in terms of situational roles, and with coordinating events in terms of event relations. This paper explores the semantic features of zhùshì 'stare' based on dependency grammar, which supplements the teaching resources and promotes the development of Chinese vocabulary teaching.
