行政與立法關係是澳門特區政治體制研究的重點。澳門特區現行的行政主導的政治體制並不排斥立法會對特區政府的監督，恰恰相反，越是在行政主導的政治體制下，越要求立法會加強對特區政府施政的依法監督，以防止政府權力的濫用並促進政府依法科學施政。目前澳門立法會對特區政府的監督權主要包括辯論、質詢和傳召作證（聽證）等權力，但實踐中立法會對政府施政的監督機制仍存在一定的不足，需要進一步完善。

The relationship between the executive and the legislature is the focus of the study of the political system of the Macao SAR. The current executive-led political system of the Macao SAR does not exclude the Legislative Council's supervision on the SAR government. On the contrary, under the executive-led political system, the Legislative Council is more required to strengthen the supervision on the SAR government, in order to prevent government power abuse and promote the government's scientific governance according to law. At present, the supervisory powers of the Macao Legislative Council mainly includes the powers of debate, questioning, and subpoena to testify (hearing).However, in practice, there are still some deficiencies in the supervision mechanism of the Legislative Council on government, which needs to be further improved.
