Other Abstract | Based on the method of strata analysis, which often used for phonological analysis, this paper studies the origins, orders, and reasons for the formation of the durative aspectual characteristics in Haifeng, Gangkou, Sanxiang and Rudong Min dialects of Guangdong. It demonstrates that the durative aspectual characteristics from location preposition structure and the adjective of “stable”are overlapping in the Min Dialects of Guangdong. This phenomenon relates to the language family and language contact, also relates to the absence of durative aspectual marker of the sentence with object in the dialect. This case of grammatical strata provides a reference for strata analysis on grammatical area. It is also beneficial for expanding the theoretical connotation and practical extension of method of strata analysis. |
