Abstract | The ideal time-frequency distribution (TFD) has long been pursued in signal processing area. It, until the present time, cannot be implemented, due to the fact that there has been no appropriate signal decomposition approach leading to such TFD. This paper proposes an implementation approach for ideal TFD first time in the literature, which is based on the newly proposed signal decomposition approach - Adaptive Fourier Decomposition. The principles of the implementation approach is described in detail. This paper also summarizes the general requirements for ideal TFD. The proposed approach satisfies all those requirements. An experiment is conducted and result is promising. |
