This paper exemplifies some of the particular challenges that legal education in the Macao SAR faces by looking at the educational programs offered by the University of Macau, Faculty of Law. It provides a brief overview of the organization of the legal profession and its relevance for the legal education in Macao. The paper focuses on the developments in the specific area of online education both before and during the COVID-19 pandemic with a view of allowing for a short outlook into a “post-pandemic” future. The various concrete measures taken in the time of the pandemic towards online legal education are presented, before the conclusion ends with a short summary and an outlook to the future of legal education in the Macao SAR.
