為了發展醫療衛生與健康事業，保障公民享有基本醫療衛生服務，提高公民健康水平，推進健康中國建設，2019年12月28日，第十三屆全國人民代表大會常務委員會第十五次會議通過了《中華人民共和國基本醫療衛生與健康促進法》，自2020年6月1日起施行。《中華人民共和國基本醫療衛生與健康促進法》共十章，110個條文，規定了基本醫療衛生服務、醫療衛生機構、醫療衛生人員、藥品供應保障、健康促進、資金保障、監督管理、法律責任等內容。

In order to advance the development of medical and healthcare services, ensure access to basic medical and healthcare services for citizens, enhance the overall health of the population, and contribute to the establishment of a healthy China, the 15th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress adopted  "The Basic Healthcare and Health Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China" on December 28, 2019. This law will officially take effect on June 1, 2020.

"The Basic Healthcare and Health Promotion Law of the People's Republic of China" consists of ten chapters and 110 articles, which cover various aspects including the provision of basic medical and health services, regulations pertaining to medical and healthcare institutions, qualifications and responsibilities of medical and healthcare personnel, ensuring the availability of essential drugs, health promotion initiatives, funding guarantees, supervision and management, as well as legal responsibilities and liabilities.
