Abstract | This chapter presents two different designs for the IRS-aided SWIPT. First, the joint active/passive information/energy beamforming are optimized for maximizing the weighted sum power at EUs subject to SINR requirements at information users (IUs), and it is proved that dedicated energy signals are not required for the IRS-aided SWIPT system. Second, we extend the above design to the case of minimizing the transmit power subject to individual quality-of-service (QoS) requirement at each IU/EU, wherein a novel penalty-based algorithm are proposed instead of commonly used alternating optimization based algorithms. |
