Abstract | Thyristor-controlled LC-coupling hybrid active power filter (TCLC-HAPF) is a promising power quality compensator in the medium-voltage-level power system, characterized by a wide operational range and low dc-link voltage. This article proposes a finite-set hybrid model predictive control (FS-HMPC) by merging the sliding mode control (SMC) and model predictive control (FS-MPC). Compared to FS-MPC, the proposed control scheme can further improve the steady-state performance and robustness of TCLC-HAPF. The sliding coefficient design, stability, and robustness analysis are also presented. In addition, a novel overall control scheme that considers the unbalanced or distorted grid voltage is provided. Finally, simulation and experiment studies are given to verify the proposal. |
