Abstract | The smallest eigenvalue of large Hankel matrices generated by a semiclassical Laguerre weight, zαe-z2+tz, where z ∈ [0, ∞), α > −1, and t ∈ R , can be obtained through the asymptotics of the orthonormal polynomials Pn(z) with respect to this weight. |
