Abstract | A single-loop CT DSM, combining a low-order CT loop and noise-shaped quantizer (NS-QTZ), demonstrates high power efficiency in the performance range of 80dB+ SNDR & 10MHz+ BW [1], [2]. Such decent power efficiency is primarily attributed to the highly efficient quantization of NS-QTZ. For instance, in [1], the QTZ using a 4b 2nd- order noise-shaping SAR provides an effective 8b resolution at the OSR of 20. However, compared with the parallel digitization of flash QTZ, the NS-QTZ performs quantization and integration in series, which takes longer time. Hence, it might not be viable as the sampling frequency (Fs) increases. |
