Abstract

The Thyristor-controlled LC-coupling hybrid active power filter (TCLC-HAPF) exhibits the characteristics of low DC-link voltage and a wide reactive power compensation range, making it a promising compensator for medium-voltage-level power systems power quality conditioning. Conventional finite-set model predictive control (FS-MPC) typically utilizes a single switching vector in each control period, resulting in a variable switching frequency and noticeable output ripple. This article addresses these concerns by presenting an enhanced MPC that incorporates a fixed switching frequency, thereby resolving these challenges. Preliminary simulation studies are provided to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed method.
