Abstract | Numerical simulation of two-dimensional stagnation-point flow is investigated with the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software of STAR-CD and results are compared with those obtained from similarity solution. Study shows that velocity profiles obtained from numerical simulation and similarity solution at high aspect ratio and close to the stagnation point are in good agreement. Results from numerical simulation find that boundary layer thickness is not exactly constant as those predicted by similarity solution. Instead, it is decreasing slightly along the wall. © 2008 American Institute of Physics. |
