Abstract | There usually is a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) in solid solutions which are composed of two or more ferroelectrics with different symmetry. Materials in the range of MPB often exhibit much better electric properties than those far from MPB. However, there is no MPB in PZN-BT system. Paraelectric phase of Ba(ZnNb)O (BZN) is realized as an implicit component in PZN-BT, whose presence decreases phase transition temperature, weakens dielectric, piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties. Analogously, there is an implicit BZN component in PZN-PT-BT system. MPB exists in PZN-PT-BT system with BT content no more than 25mol%, because there are more amount of implicit PT component and less amount of implicit BZN component. Annealing was used to investigate the variation of morphotropic phases in PZN-PT-BT ceramics. |
