Abstract

With the advancement of technology, instructors are increasingly facing the challenge of what to include in the computer technology course syllabus to keep the curriculum current. This paper reports on a classroom initiative. The aim is to share the findings of the course survey on various aspects relating to the computing course in the undergraduate curriculum, including what might be considered as suitable contents for the students. Findings revealed that a majority of students are not proficient in using the Windows Operating System, Word, Excel, and Access. Students do not want the course description to be changed. The findings should be a matter of concern. Pedagogic implications
