Abstract

Situated along the Fujian coast , Quanzhou is generally accepted as one of the most prominent seaport cities in Song and Yuan China ; it apparently had played an important developing trade , cultural and diplomatic contacts between China and many overseas countries. There is now a very sizable literature on Quanzhou In many languages . Nevertheless , not many works treat the topic in a broader regonal framework.
