論唐君毅的宗教意識說

一般來說,西方宗教強調所謂「外在超越」是以神聖界或上帝是在吾人之外,吾人唯有倒空自己,熄滅 自誇驕傲,承認道德上的無力,向外尋求神思崇拜皈依。然而,承認自身道德無力是否必定是皈依宗教的條 件,肯定道德自我是否又必會排斥宗教,崇信宗教是否必是一種「他力主義」,道德建立又是否必是一種 「自力主義」呢?相比西方的宗教思想,現代新儒家多強調「內在超越」,用「性與天道相貫通」來代表儒 家的天人關係,究竟性命天道是如何貫通,貫通的動力在那裡?若能貫通則其所呈現的境界是如何?此與西 方外在超越的理境有何區別。上述問題將於後文回答。本文主旨在於論述唐君毅哲學中的宗教意識、此宗教 意識有何本質要素、有何形態、其與宗教發展的關係如何,作一闡述,以求凸顯唐氏宗教理論之特質所在。
