The textbook The Routledge Advanced Language Training Course for K-16 Non-native Chinese Teachers is a content-based and thematically organized textbook. It is designed for in-service and pre-service K-16 non-native Chinese language teachers, whose needs are twofold: 1. to further advance their language proficiency, and 2. to continue their professional development on teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language. Based on five years of field testing with K-16 in-service and pre-service non-native Chinese teachers, the book strives to offer an innovative approach to advanced language instruction, to cover a variety of up-to-date pedagogical and cultural themes and topics, and to maintain a balance between content-based and language-focused instruction relevant to K-16 Chinese language teachers.
