As the complexity and size of data networks increases, the network management faces a great challenge. Fortunately, the emergence of SNMP management framework and Web technology release network managers from this difficult circumstance. This paper discussed the functional requirements of Web-based Network Management and proposed the architecture for Web-based Network Configuration Management, which is capable of controlling and monitoring the configuration information of enteiprise networks remotely. The functional-modules and the interfaces of the proposed system were discussed in detail. © 2000 IEEE.
