AbstractOBJECTIVE: To establish a RP-HPLC method for the determination of ferulic acid in plasma. METHODS: The blood samples were obtained after oral administration of Shenghua Tang. Boiling-water bath was used to deproteinate in plasma. CODS column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 10 μm) was used with methanol-water (containing 1.0% acetic acid) (45: 55) as the mobile phase and UV detection at 323 nm. RESULTS: The assay was linear within the range of 4.5-96 ng·mL, r = 0. 997 5 (n = 7). The mean recovery was 98.5% with RSD = 1.67% (n = 3). CONCLUSION: Compared with the traditional extraction, the method appeared to be simple, rapid and sensitive, and can obtain the pharmacokinetic parameters of ferulic acid in rabbit after oral administration of Shenghua tang.
