Other Abstract

Prevost and Tuller (2022, henceforth P & T) provided an insightful and comprehensive literature review on bilingual language development among children with autism spectrum disorders ( ASD). They agreed with the unusual bilingual acquisition in autism and explored the various aspects of the uniqueness of bilingual children with ASD in language development. This review ended with future directions that included heterogeneity of bilingual children with autism, various developmental trajectories, and collaboration between laboratories. We agree with these suggestions but we notice a critical void of research into bilingual children with ASD: the role of emotion in language processing.
