| Abstract | This report is a product of the titled project conducted by the Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law (RCCL) of School of Law, City University of Hong Kong, sponsored by Microsoft Hong Kong Limited. The report has examined the legal issues related to cross-border data transfer and has assessed a proposal exploring Hong Kong to be a data center hub for the Greater Bay Area (GBA) as a pilot, and eventually for the entire China in the long run. In the end, some key recommendations have been made in relation to the relevant legal considerations to enable cross-border data flow within GBA. |
